Spartans of Excellence
The Spartans of Excellence Award is a teacher’s choice, non-academic award that recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional character traits in the classroom. Some examples would be citizenship (kindness, respect, trustworthiness, honesty, cooperation with others), leadership, a strong work ethic, regular attendance despite extenuating circumstances, determination, classroom engagement, or a strong desire to learn despite hardships. Teachers think outside of academic achievement (GPA) when selecting these students.
Each teacher may select TWO deserving students from any class, per semester, for this honor. This award will be presented during the Fall classroom awards and is co-sponsored by the PTO. Students will also receive a T-shirt at the end of the year, along with the Spring Spartans of Excellence recipients.
